There is no job more emotionally draining than Sales.

Your self-worth is tied to “the number”

You start every quarter hearing:

great job finishing the quarter, how’s the pipeline for the next?

It is what it is, but as a CEO you can lessen the emotional weight of the job.

Here’s a suggestion: every time your team closes a deal, call the rep, SE, and SDR who played a part in closing it, sincerely thank them, and ask genuine questions about the deal.

You’ll be surprised at how few reps ever hear from their CEO (or even their VP Sales) on closing a deal.

A lot of you started a new fiscal recently. It’s still not too late to call.
